Saint Honoré is the patron of a Carthusian establishment at Abbeville, which was founded in 1306. He is the patron saint of bakers and pastry chefs. In 1400, the bakers of Paris established their guild in the church of Saint Honoratus, celebrating his feast on 16 May.

The miracle of Saint Honoré: When the Saint announced to his nurse that he wanted to become a priest, she was making bread. "When my shovel has leaves, you will be bishop!" mocked the good woman. And with those words, the miracle happened. To his amazement, the shovel was covered with leaves.

St. Honore, also known as Honoratus, became bishop of Amiens in Northern France in the 6 ^th century. After his death, processions in his honor supposedly stopped both droughts and deluges, ensuring good wheat harvests. This won him the admiration of bakers across the country.
